Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM, with rotating weekday and weekend on-call responsibilities

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $69 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine imaging procedures including cardiac, SPECT, bone scans, bleed studies, and gastric emptying studies
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals following established protocols and safety guidelines
  • Operate and maintain GE imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout imaging procedures, explaining each step with care
  • Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team members to optimize patient outcomes
  • Document and manage patient images and records in Radnet and Merge Unity PACS systems
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage for weekdays, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 imaging support

Qualifications

  • Active BLS certification required
  • California Nuclear Medicine Technologist license (CA NMTL) required
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • Proficiency in cardiac, SPECT, bone scan, bleed studies, and gastric emptying imaging
  • Ability to float to Mercy Downtown (approximately 6.5 miles away) as needed
  • Strong patient care and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of GE imaging equipment
  • Experience with Radnet and Merge Unity PACS
  • Familiarity with Cerner charting system
  • Understanding of radiation safety and imaging protocols
  • Excellent organizational and documentation skills
