Contract Type: Contract
Shift Type: Day shift, 10-hour shifts (variable 8's or 10's); call required some nights/weekends - 1 weeknight per week and 2 12-hour weekend call shifts per month, 30-minute response time
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $97 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during a variety of procedures including laparoscopic, bariatric, ortho, neuro, uro, GYN, and ENT cases, providing first-assist exposure, hemostasis, and tissue handling
- Collaborate with the surgical team to maintain a sterile field and ensure patient safety throughout the intraoperative period
- Provide preoperative and postoperative care in the pre/post-op area as needed to support continuity of care
- Respond to on-call emergencies within 30 minutes, ensuring timely surgical intervention for urgent cases
- Utilize Cerner EMR to accurately document intraoperative records and patient information
- Mentor and support OR staff, sharing your expertise in perioperative nursing and surgical assisting
Qualifications
- Active California RN license required
- Minimum of 2 years of perioperative/OR experience
- ACLS and BLS (AHA) certifications required
- CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse) certification required via CCI
- RNFA specialty experience strongly preferred
- Scrubbing experience preferred
- Cerner EMR experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, and OR protocols
- Familiarity with laparoscopic, bariatric, ortho, neuro, uro, GYN, and ENT procedures
- Ability to respond to call within 30 minutes and manage emergency situations
- Proficient with Cerner charting system and Phillips telemetry monitoring
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff
