Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide safe, high-quality Med/Surg nursing care to adult patients
Perform thorough assessments and create individualized care plans
Administer medications and treatments accurately and on time
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
Monitor patient status and escalate changes promptly to providers
Document care clearly and timely in the electronic medical record
Support patient and family education to promote recovery and discharge readiness

Qualifications

Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) in Louisiana or eligibility to obtain LA RN license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred or available
Previous Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
Ability to safely work 12.5-hour shifts and manage patient assignments
Pass background check and meet facility immunization requirements
Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills

Education

Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
BSN preferred where available

Knowledge & Skills

Solid clinical assessment and patient monitoring skills
Medication administration and IV therapy proficiency
Familiarity with electronic medical records and clinical documentation
Ability to prioritize, triage, and manage multiple patients
Effective communication with patients, families, and care teams
Understanding of Med/Surg protocols, safety, and infection control
