Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Rotating 12.5-hour shifts (specific start/end times and weekly schedule to be provided by facility)

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $47 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care for Med/Surg patients
Perform accurate assessments and respond promptly to changes in condition
Administer medications and treatments safely and document thoroughly
Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members
Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans
Maintain meticulous charting and uphold unit standards for quality and safety
Support unit flow by prioritizing tasks and collaborating with nursing staff

Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana (or compact RN as applicable)
BLS certification required; ACLS and other certifications encouraged or preferred
Hands-on Med/Surg nursing experience preferred
Demonstrated excellent communication and teamwork skills
Ability to safely manage multiple patients and prioritize in a fast-paced setting

Education

Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
Proficiency with medication administration and IV therapy
Solid documentation skills in electronic health records (EHR)
Effective patient/family education and discharge planning
Ability to collaborate across disciplines and escalate concerns appropriately
