Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on the 1S Observation unit, monitoring telemetry and recognizing changes in condition
• Float seamlessly to Med-Surg units (Respiratory, Stroke, Cardiac) and the ED when needed to support the team
• Interpret telemetry/BCRA rhythms accurately and document in Epic EMR
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to create and implement patient care plans
• Assess, plan, and evaluate patient outcomes, adjusting care as conditions evolve
• Maintain a safe and compassionate environment, upholding ACLS and BLS protocols

Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (both required)
• Minimum 3 years of recent Med Surg/Telemetry experience
• Current Epic EMR proficiency - you should be comfortable charting independently from day one
• Ability to read and interpret Telemetry/BCRA rhythms; a competency test is part of day one
• Strong assessment skills and the ability to float between units

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid knowledge of Med-Surg nursing across respiratory, stroke, and cardiac patient populations
• Proficiency in Epic EMR charting
• Expertise in telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Understanding of ACLS and BLS guidelines
• Ability to adapt quickly to different units and patient acuity levels
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
