Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality transthoracic echocardiograms, limited studies, contrast studies, and bubble studies following departmental protocols and professional standards
• Produce accurate cardiac measurements and diagnostic-quality images for cardiologist interpretation while ensuring patient safety and comfort
• Use clinical judgment to evaluate patient history, optimize imaging, recognize significant abnormalities, and communicate urgent findings when appropriate
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver efficient patient care across inpatient, outpatient, emergency, and surgical settings
• Make a meaningful impact on heart health for patients in a community-focused critical access hospital

Qualifications

• Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through ARDMS or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) through CCI required
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association required
• Minimum one year of echocardiography experience required
• Travel experience required
• Strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, pathology, Doppler principles, and echocardiographic imaging techniques

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Sonography, Echocardiography, or Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

Knowledge & Skills

• Expertise in transthoracic echocardiography, Doppler imaging, and cardiac sonography
• Excellent communication and patient care skills
• Strong organizational and computer skills
• Ability to work independently while maintaining collaborative relationships with physicians and care teams
