Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, every other weekend and holiday
Hours per Week: 36
Candidate Pay Rate: $63 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and reassess patients to develop and update individualized care plans that promote optimal outcomes.
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered care in the emergency department, respecting each patient's dignity and individuality.
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and vasoactive drips with precision, monitoring for effectiveness and adverse reactions.
- Perform thorough triage assessments to prioritize care and ensure timely interventions for critical patients.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to plan and prepare patients for discharge, incorporating support systems and resources.
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and self-care, addressing barriers to learning.
- Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly to ensure continuity of care.
- Recognize and respond to changes in patient status, including cardiac arrhythmias and respiratory compromise, implementing protocols as needed.
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts required.
- Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of Emergency Department experience preferred; strong candidates with critical care experience will be considered.
- Current BLS certification (AHA) required; ACLS required upon hire or within 60 days.
- PALS certification required within 6 months of hire.
- TNCC, ENPC, or CEN certification is a plus.
Education
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ASN) required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills to make quick, informed decisions.
- Proficiency in emergency nursing concepts, including triage, cardiac monitoring, and critical care.
- Expertise in medication administration, IV therapy, and titrating vasoactive medications.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Thorough clinical documentation skills to maintain accurate patient records.
- Knowledge of safety protocols, including disaster response, restraints, and mandated reporting.
