Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to mothers and newborns in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and the well-baby nursery
• Support breastfeeding and Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) practices
• Monitor fetal heart rates and assess maternal/fetal status during labor and delivery
• Assist with C-sections and provide postoperative care
• Step into the charge nurse role on occasion after completing training
• Float to other departments as needed, providing hands-on patient care or task support

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of recent experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn care
• Active Arizona RN license or compact license - must be currently active
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications
• AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring required; RNC-EFM may be substituted
• STABLE certification preferred
• Strong teamwork, flexibility, and communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in labor and delivery nursing, postpartum care, and newborn assessment
• Expertise in fetal heart monitoring and interpretation
• Knowledge of Baby-Friendly Hospital Initiative (BFHI) practices
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Capability to take on charge nurse duties after training
• Comfortable floating to other departments and adapting quickly
