Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and expert care to mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum
• Monitor fetal heart rates and maternal vital signs, intervening as needed
• Assist with deliveries, including cesarean sections, and support the care team
• Educate new parents on infant care, feeding, and recovery
• Administer medications, IVs, and pain management as ordered
• Collaborate with obstetricians, midwives, and nurses to ensure safe outcomes

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Previous experience in Labor and Delivery is strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking skills and ability to stay calm under pressure

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of fetal monitoring and labor support techniques
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Excellent patient education and communication skills
• Proficient in electronic health records and documentation
