Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, person-centered care to residents, assisting with activities of daily living
- Take and record vital signs, reporting any changes to the nursing team
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and positioning to ensure safety and comfort
- Assist with meals, hydration, and feeding, respecting individual preferences
- Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for residents and staff
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members
- Document care provided accurately and in a timely manner
- Uphold infection control and safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Active Delaware CNA certification in good standing
- Current BLS/CPR certification preferred
- Compassionate, patient, and reliable with a positive attitude
- Ability to pass a background check and meet DE DHSS fingerprinting requirements (agency must be registered)
- Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or approved medical/religious exemption
- Must wear a photo badge and bring state or federal ID to the facility
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of resident care principles, including ADLs and infection control
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a care team
- Comfort with electronic documentation and medical terminology
- Attention to detail and strong observation skills
- Empathy and patience when working with elderly or disabled residents
