Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, expert nursing care to laboring patients and newborns immediately after delivery
• Circulate and recover cesarean section patients with precision and confidence
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor procedures
• Document patient care accurately using CPN and Meditach systems
• Collaborate with unit secretaries, OR techs, and the care team to ensure efficient patient flow
• Champion shared decision making and elevate the patient experience on every shift

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Active AWHONN Intermediate (not advanced) or CEFM certification required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required
• Ability to circulate and recover C-section patients confidently
• Travelers must be comfortable floating first per unit policy

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in care of the laboring patient and newborn assessment
• Experienced with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, D&C, cerclage, epidural anesthesia, and tub labor
• Proficient with CPN and Meditach documentation systems
• Strong clinical judgment in a 12-bed L&D unit
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
