Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to patients in a fast-paced emergency department
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on individual needs
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered, while monitoring patient responses
• Document patient information accurately and timely in the electronic health record
• Provide education and support to patients and their families during their emergency care experience
• Respond quickly and effectively to critical situations, stabilizing patients and communicating with the care team
• Adhere to safety protocols, infection control standards, and hospital policies at all times

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• TNCC and NIHSS certifications required
• Experience in emergency nursing preferred
• Ability to work every third weekend as scheduled
• Completion of Trinity Skills Checklist and Specialty Specific Competency Testing
• Compliance with personal health history requirements including COVID-19 and influenza vaccines, drug screen, and physical

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of emergency nursing principles and trauma care
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, critical assessment, and rapid response
• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, families, and team members
• Proficient in using electronic health records and medical equipment
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-stress situations
