Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Assess, triage, and prioritize patients based on acuity
• Administer medications, start IVs, and perform emergency procedures
• Collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to stabilize and treat patients
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately
• Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members during high-pressure situations
• Advocate for patient safety and comfort from arrival to discharge

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license in Louisiana (or compact state, if applicable)
• Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• ACLS certification required or ability to obtain upon hire
• PALS and TNCC strongly preferred
• Previous emergency department or critical care experience preferred
• Ability to stay calm and think clearly in fast-paced, unpredictable situations

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Knowledge of emergency nursing principles and triage protocols
• Proficiency with IV starts, phlebotomy, and emergency medication administration
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems
• Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a high-acuity environment
