Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in the Emergency Department with confidence and compassion
- Perform rapid triage, assessments, and interventions for a wide range of urgent and emergent conditions
- Collaborate with physicians, techs, and support staff to develop and implement patient care plans
- Administer medications and treatments safely, document thoroughly, and escalate changes in condition promptly
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and next steps in a clear, reassuring manner
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with hospital policies and standards
- Support a positive, team-first environment that keeps patient safety and experience at the center of care
Qualifications
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) licensure (NH license or Nurse Licensure Compact eligibility recommended)
- Minimum ED experience preferred; new grads with strong clinical training may be considered
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) strongly preferred
- Proven ability to perform under pressure, prioritize care, and think critically in fast-paced settings
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Current immunizations and ability to pass facility onboarding requirements
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Triage and emergency nursing principles with trauma and acute care familiarity
- Medication administration, IV therapy, and wound care skills
- Proficient charting and documentation practices (electronic health record experience a plus)
- Ability to interpret vital signs, EKGs, and lab results to inform rapid decisions
- Excellent situational awareness, multitasking, and delegation skills
