Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, specialized nursing care to cardiac surgery and procedural sedation patients across the lifespan, from pediatrics to elderly.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of surgeons, anesthesiologists, and specialty providers to ensure safe, high-quality surgical outcomes.
• Prepare the operating room, instrumentation, and supplies for cardiovascular procedures, including open-heart surgeries.
• Monitor patients throughout their perioperative journey, advocating for their comfort and safety.
• Use your ICU background to anticipate the needs of the team, and jump in to scrub or circulate as needed.

Qualifications

• Current unencumbered Oregon RN license required (must be active before submission)
• AHA Healthcare Provider Level BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of CVOR/Open Heart experience required
• ICU experience and scrubbing experience preferred but not required
• Experience with Point Click EMR is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of cardiac surgical procedures and sterile technique
• Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during open-heart cases
• Skill in circulating and/or scrubbing for CVOR procedures
• Comfortable providing care to diverse patient populations
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Adaptability to varied shift schedules and a fast-paced OR environment
