Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 4x10-hour day shifts (schedule varies; 4 days per week), 07:30 AM - 06:00 PM; occasional early shifts 06:30 AM - 05:00 PM; one of the 4 days designated as a late shift (complete last patient of the day); 1 night on-call per week; 1 weekend every other month. Primarily day shifts with occasional late and on-call coverage.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing care in the Cardiac Cath Lab, ensuring patient safety during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures
• Assist and scrub for complex interventional cases including PCI, rotablator atherectomy, and left/right heart catheterizations
• Monitor and manage patients under procedural sedation, including End-Tidal CO2 and hemodynamic monitoring (Swan-Ganz when indicated)
• Administer and manage IV therapy, including starting/maintaining IVs and handling infusion pumps and vasopressors
• Perform sheath removal and post-procedure monitoring with attention to topical hemostasis and ACT values
• Recognize and respond to dysrhythmias and cardiac emergencies using ACLS protocols and emergency medications
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team using EPIC, Pyxis, MAC LAB and SBAR for safe, efficient documentation and communication
• Maintain infection prevention and isolation precautions, and follow radiation and laser safety procedures

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state licensure requirements apply)
• Minimum 2 years of Cardiac Cath Lab experience (HARD STOP: 2 years required)
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience with diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath procedures including PCI, left/right heart cath, and stent placement
• Comfortable with advanced monitoring: Swan-Ganz, End-Tidal CO2, and activated clotting time (ACT)
• Familiarity with EPIC documentation and Pyxis medication systems preferred
• Able to take 1 night of call per week and float as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

• Percutaneous Coronary Interventions (PCI) and stent placement
• Left and right heart catheterization and rotablator atherectomy
• Pulmonary Artery (Swan-Ganz) monitoring and hemodynamic assessment
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Sheath removal, topical hemostasis methods, and ACT management
• IV therapy including starting/maintaining IVs and infusion pump management
• Dysrhythmia recognition and ACLS emergency response
• Infection prevention, isolation precautions, and PPE best practices
• Familiarity with EPIC, Pyxis, MAC LAB and effective SBAR communication
