Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver direct physical and psychosocial care through assessment, planning, intervention, implementation and evaluation
• Provide holistic, individualized care appropriate to each patient’s age and needs
• Act as an advocate for patient safety and ensure compliance with core measures
• Participate in development and implementation of patient care plans to improve outcomes
• Communicate nursing process elements clearly to the interdisciplinary team to promote collaboration
• Perform crisis intervention and de-escalation using trauma-informed approaches

Qualifications

• Current State of Idaho Registered Nurse license in good standing (required)
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred
• Minimum 2 years nursing experience (psychiatric/behavioral health or chemical dependency experience preferred)
• American Red Cross or AHA Basic Life Support (BLS/BCLS) certification required
• Crisis Prevention Institute or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI/NVCI) training required within 30 days of hire
• Comfortable working with Meditech EMR or willingness to learn quickly

Education

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Psychiatric and behavioral health nursing best practices
• Patient assessment and individualized care planning
• Crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques
• Trauma-informed care approaches
• Experience with Meditech electronic medical record system
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
