Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate acute care to a diverse patient population on a 30-bed unit combining acute care and neuro stepdown
• Monitor and manage patients requiring high flow oxygen, chest tubes, suction, and various drips, including stroke care
• Care for neuro stepdown patients utilizing Vapotherm, BiPAP, trachs, and titrating cardiac drips
• Assist with common procedures such as lumbar punctures and chest tube placements
• Perform bedside shift reports and participate in daily huddles to ensure continuity of care
• Collaborate with the charge nurse, techs, and unit secretary to deliver efficient and effective patient care

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state
• BLS certification required (ACLS required for Neuro Stepdown)
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Neuro stepdown experience strongly preferred
• Strong critical thinking and time management skills
• Willingness to float after orientation

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Meditech documentation
• Knowledge of acute care and neuro stepdown patient management
• Skills in managing high flow oxygen, BiPAP, and cardiac drips
• Understanding of stroke care protocols
• Strong communication skills for bedside shift report
• Ability to titrate cardiac drips safely
