Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and implement individualized nursing care plans with confidence and compassion
• Administer medications and advanced interventions following ACLS and BLS protocols
• Perform trauma and emergency nursing responsibilities consistent with TNCC training
• Conduct stroke assessments and NIHSS evaluations accurately and promptly
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams to ensure timely, patient-centered outcomes
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses clearly and timely
• Participate in Trinity Specialty Competency Testing and skills checklists to maintain high standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse license (Iowa) required or compact RN with Iowa authorization where applicable
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) required
• NIHSS certification or demonstrated competency in stroke assessment required
• Ability to pass Trinity specialty competency testing, skills checklist, and standard pre-employment screenings
• Up-to-date immunizations and health screening compliance (COVID-19, TB screening, MMR, Hep B, Influenza, etc.)

Education

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN preferred)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in acute care settings
• Familiarity with stroke protocols and NIHSS stroke scale
• Trauma assessment skills in line with TNCC principles
• Proven ability to work in fast-paced environments and prioritize care
• Clear communication and teamwork across multidisciplinary teams
• Accurate clinical documentation and electronic charting
