Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform portable digital (DR) and computed (CR) X-ray exams at nursing homes and healthcare facilities to produce clinically diagnostic images
• Transmit images to Radiologists and EKGs to Cardiologists quickly and accurately for timely interpretation
• Unload, set up and safely move portable X-ray equipment into patient rooms and facilities while maintaining image quality and patient comfort
• Perform EKG acquisition and transmission when required, ensuring clear, interpretable tracings
• Scan and submit exam-related paperwork and billing documents daily per protocol
• Maintain regular communication with dispatch and management to support efficient routing and patient care
• Maintain vehicle and X-ray equipment with routine checks and basic upkeep to ensure reliability in the field
• Provide professional, compassionate patient interactions and coordinate with facility staff to deliver excellent bedside care

Qualifications

• ARRT certification (required)
• Valid Virginia state radiologic technologist license (required); limited licenses not accepted
• Valid driver’s license in good standing and reliable transportation
• Vaccination against COVID-19 required (or approved exemption documentation)
• Comfortable performing mobile/bedside radiography in post-acute and long-term care settings
• Ability to safely push/pull and maneuver equipment (force up to ~50–100 lbs at times)
• Must reside within 30 minutes of Richmond and maintain required state licensure and health requirements
• Strong communication skills and the ability to coordinate with dispatch, facility staff, and clinicians

Knowledge & Skills

• Portable digital radiography (DR) and computed radiography (CR) techniques
• X-ray positioning and image quality control for varied bedside settings
• EKG acquisition and secure transmission to cardiology services
• Image transmission workflows and familiarity with sending studies to radiologists
• Basic vehicle and mobile X-ray equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Scanning and organizing exam paperwork and billing documentation
• Time management, routing efficiency, and patient-centered bedside care
• Professional communication with clinical staff, supervisors and patients
