Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, high-quality care to hemodynamically stable patients in the Progressive Care Unit
• Monitor and assess patients with conditions such as CHF, COPD, sepsis, and post-surgical needs
• Operate advanced medical equipment including chest tubes, arterial lines, and ventilatory support
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to deliver outstanding patient outcomes
• Precept and mentor new staff while serving as a clinical leader on the unit
• Support patients and families with emotional, spiritual, and cultural care throughout their stay
• Manage IV medications and coordinate discharge planning from admission to home

Qualifications

• Active Montana RN license or eligibility to obtain one
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of nursing experience in Progressive Care or Step-Down settings
• EPNC and TNCC certifications preferred
• Pediatric experience and post-heart catheterization care experience a plus

Education

• Associate or Bachelor of Science in Nursing from an accredited program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills for predictably unstable patients
• Proficiency with advanced equipment like A-lines, chest tubes, and cardiac telemetry
• Ability to interpret EKGs and manage common IV medications safely
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Comfort working with pediatric and adult medical-surgical populations
