Roles & Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients in the acute inpatient rehab setting to determine functional needs
• Develop individualized care plans that drive measurable patient progress
• Deliver therapeutic interventions across orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary cases
• Supervise and coordinate therapeutic care, collaborating with PTAs, OTs and Speech Therapists
• Document assessments, plans and progress accurately and promptly in Cerner PowerChart
• Communicate results and goals clearly with patients, families and the interdisciplinary team
• Use patient lifting equipment and safe mobility strategies to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• Current North Carolina license to practice Physical Therapy (required)
• Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy (per hiring profile)
• BLS certification required
• At least 1 year acute care experience preferred; job posting indicates 2 years experience
• Comfort working with PTAs, OTs and Speech Therapists in a busy inpatient environment
• Experience with orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary patient populations is helpful

Education

• Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in patient evaluation and development of targeted care plans
• Proficient with Cerner PowerChart documentation workflows
• Experienced using patient lifting equipment such as SARA+, Stedy and Maximove
• Strong clinical reasoning across orthopedics, neurology and cardiopulmonary cases
• Ability to supervise and coordinate care across a multidisciplinary rehab team
• Good communication skills for patient/family education and interdisciplinary collaboration
