Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled physical therapy interventions under the direction of the supervising PT to help patients regain mobility and independence
• Deliver therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfers, and functional activities tailored to each patient’s goals
• Use clinical judgment to progress treatment plans and document outcomes clearly and professionally
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care and support timely patient discharges
• Educate patients and families on home exercise programs, safety strategies, and activity modifications
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and participate in quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program (Associate degree or equivalent)
• Current, unrestricted Montana PTA license or eligibility to obtain Montana licensure prior to start
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required
• Comfortable working Monday through Friday and providing compassionate, patient-centered care
• Previous outpatient or acute care PTA experience preferred but new grads with strong clinical readiness are welcome
• Able to start quickly for a 13-week contract (Start: 2026-03-16 — End: 2026-06-15)

Education

• Associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant from an accredited program
• BLS/CPR certification

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in therapeutic exercise prescription, manual techniques, and gait/transfers
• Familiarity with modalities and assistive devices
• Strong documentation skills and comfort with electronic medical records
• Excellent communication and patient education abilities
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment and collaborate with a care team
• Good clinical reasoning to progress and modify plans of care safely
