Physical Therapist - Acute Inpatient

Location: Bakersfield, CA

Start Date: 06-16-2026

End Date: 09-15-2026

Contract Type: Contract

Shift Type: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM with occasional 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM; one weekend every third weekend (Monday and Friday off that weekend)

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $59 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide exceptional physical therapy to acute inpatient populations including general medical, orthopedic, and CVA patients
Deliver patient-centered care in Medical/Surgical, ICU, and ER settings
Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize patient outcomes
Document patient progress accurately and timely
Educate patients and families on treatment plans and home exercises

Qualifications

Active California PT license required
Current BLS certification from AHA required
Minimum of 1 year acute inpatient PT experience preferred
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment

Knowledge & Skills

Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in handling a variety of diagnoses including TKA, THA, spinal surgery, and general deconditioning
Experience with electronic medical records
