Roles & Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients recovering from anesthesia, ensuring a smooth and safe transition
• Administer medications and manage post-operative pain effectively
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to optimize patient outcomes
• Provide compassionate education to patients and families about recovery and discharge instructions
• Respond swiftly to changes in patient condition, initiating emergency interventions when needed
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records

Qualifications

• Current RN license in Rhode Island or compact state
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required
• Proven experience in PACU or critical care settings
• Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of anesthesia recovery protocols and post-operative complications
• Proficiency in EKG interpretation and hemodynamic monitoring
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Skilled in pain management and medication administration
• Ability to prioritize care and multitask efficiently
