Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable patient experience
- Prepare and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following strict infection control protocols
- Take dental X-rays and impressions as directed by the orthodontist
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts in the practice management system
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Certification as a Dental Assistant or Orthodontic Assistant preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification is a plus
- Experience working in a dental office, especially orthodontics, is highly valued
- X-ray certification (RDA or equivalent) is desirable
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
- Familiarity with dental software and patient management systems (e.g., Denticon)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and team members
- Attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
