Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist with patient exams and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow
• Prepare operatories and sterilize instruments to maintain a safe, clean environment
• Take and develop dental radiographs with precision and care
• Educate patients on treatment plans, oral hygiene, and braces care
• Maintain accurate patient records and manage appointment schedules
• Provide outstanding chairside support and make patients feel at ease

Qualifications

• Active Maryland Dental Assistant license or certification, or ability to obtain
• X-ray certification required for dental imaging
• Prior orthodontic assisting experience preferred
• Strong patient care skills and a warm, friendly demeanor
• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with procedures

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization protocols, and infection control
• Familiarity with orthodontic appliances and treatment processes
• Skill in taking dental impressions and digital scans
• Proficiency with dental practice management software
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Attention to detail and a compassionate patient-first approach
