Medical Assistant - Per Diem

Candidate Pay Rate: $25 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care to pediatric patients and their families
- Assist healthcare providers with patient exams, procedures, and treatments
- Take and record vital signs, patient histories, and medical information
- Prepare examination rooms and ensure clinical areas are well-stocked and clean
- Assist with specimen collection, point-of-care testing, and medication administration under supervision
- Document patient care accurately and efficiently in the electronic health record
- Communicate effectively with the care team to support high-quality outcomes
- Educate patients and families on care plans and follow-up instructions
Qualifications
- Current Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is preferred
- BLS certification is required (or must obtain upon hire)
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical or hospital setting is a plus
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
Knowledge & Skills
- Solid understanding of medical terminology and clinical procedures
- Comfortable using electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Skilled in obtaining vital signs and preparing patients for exams
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent bedside manner and dedication to patient comfort
