Candidate Pay Rate: $32 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during exams, braces adjustments, and Invisalign fittings to ensure a smooth, efficient visit
- Prepare patients for orthodontic procedures by explaining steps and easing any nerves with a warm smile
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring crisp images for accurate diagnosis and treatment planning
- Create digital impressions and scans for Invisalign trays and retainers, capturing precise details
- Sterilize and organize dental instruments and operatory rooms, keeping safety and infection control top of mind
- Document treatment plans, update patient records, and help maintain accurate orthodontic notes
- Educate patients and families on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care to support lasting results
Qualifications
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or comparable dental assisting certification is a plus
- Radiography/X-ray certification in Virginia or willingness to obtain one
- Hands-on experience with orthodontic procedures, braces, and Invisalign is strongly preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification is a nice bonus
- A compassionate, patient-first attitude with great communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced orthodontic practice
Knowledge & Skills
- In-depth knowledge of orthodontic treatments, including braces, retainers, and Invisalign
- Comfort with digital dental software and recordkeeping systems
- Solid understanding of sterilization and infection control protocols
- Skill in explaining dental procedures in a clear, friendly way
- Strong teamwork and collaboration to support the orthodontic provider
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate impressions, scans, and patient documentation
