Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist during procedures, ensuring patients are comfortable and informed
- Prepare operatories and sterilize dental instruments following infection control protocols
- Take and process dental radiographs and impressions
- Educate patients on orthodontic care, oral hygiene, and treatment plans
- Maintain accurate electronic patient records and clinical documentation
- Manage orthodontic supplies and inventory to keep the practice running smoothly
Qualifications
- Must be orthodontic certified (ortho certified)
- Dental assisting experience, preferably in orthodontics
- Current CPR/BLS certification preferred
- Strong patient communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical setting
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in orthodontic instruments and procedures
- Knowledge of dental radiography and impression techniques
- Familiarity with dental software and patient records
- Understanding of sterilization and OSHA standards
- Excellent chairside manner and teamwork skills
