Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist the orthodontist chairside during procedures, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow
- Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized environment
- Take dental X-rays, impressions, and digital scans as directed
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care in a warm, encouraging way
- Manage patient records and appointments with attention to detail
Qualifications
- Prior dental assisting experience, especially in orthodontics, is a plus
- Appropriate dental assistant certification or licensure for Maryland as applicable
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred)
- A friendly, patient-focused attitude with excellent communication skills
Knowledge & Skills
- Working knowledge of dental instruments, sterilization, and infection control
- Familiarity with orthodontic tools, brackets, bands, and wires
- Strong interpersonal skills to connect with patients and teammates
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced clinical setting
