Roles & Responsibilities

• Dispense and prepare medications, including chemotherapy agents, in an inpatient pharmacy setting
• Review and verify physician orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and drug interactions
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to optimize medication therapy for patients
• Provide medication counseling and education to patients and their families
• Maintain accurate patient profiles and medication records in Cerner
• Participate in medication safety initiatives and quality improvement projects
• Float to other pharmacy areas as needed to ensure coverage
• Respond to medical emergencies and provide drug information as needed

Qualifications

• Active California Pharmacist license in good standing
• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient pharmacy experience
• Hands-on experience with chemotherapy drug preparation and handling
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough understanding of pharmaceutical calculations and compounding
• Knowledge of chemotherapy protocols, dosing, and safe handling procedures
• Proficiency in Cerner pharmacy order entry and documentation
• Familiarity with acute care pharmacy operations and regulatory standards
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Effective teamwork and interpersonal skills
