Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist orthodontists during patient evaluations, procedures, and adjustments
- Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are sterilized and organized
- Take and process dental X-rays and impressions
- Educate patients on oral hygiene and proper care of orthodontic appliances
- Maintain accurate patient records and update Denticon software
- Provide comfort and reassurance to patients throughout their visit
Qualifications
- Prior experience as an orthodontic assistant is preferred
- Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state registration as required
- Knowledge of dental terminology and orthodontic procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Must be detail-oriented and have excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with Denticon or similar dental software is a plus
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency in orthodontic assisting techniques
- Working knowledge of Denticon practice management software
- Understanding of dental radiography and safety protocols
- Strong patient care and chairside manner skills
- Ability to anticipate dentist's needs and assist with procedures
