Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the lead dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth and comfortable patient experience
• Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and treatment areas, maintaining strict infection control standards
• Take and develop dental X-rays while following all safety protocols and obtaining high-quality diagnostic images
• Educate young patients and their families on oral hygiene, preventive care, and post-operative instructions
• Maintain accurate patient records, update dental charts, and manage digital imaging systems
• Manage inventory of dental supplies, place orders as needed, and keep the clinic organized and welcoming

Qualifications

• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) or state-specific certification preferred
• Radiography/X-ray certification required to perform imaging duties
• Prior chairside assisting experience, especially with pediatric patients, is a strong plus
• Current CPR/BLS certification to ensure patient safety
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a caring, patient-first attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology, and instrumentation
• Familiarity with dental practice management software for charting and scheduling
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to infection control practices
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, child-friendly dental environment
• Adaptability and willingness to assist across various clinical duties as needed
