Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare the operating room for pediatric surgical procedures, ensuring a safe and sterile environment
• Assist the surgical team during procedures, anticipating needs and maintaining sterile technique
• Monitor pediatric patients throughout their perioperative journey, advocating for their comfort and safety
• Document accurate intraoperative records and communicate effectively with the care team
• Provide compassionate support to patients and their families before, during, and after surgery
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to deliver exceptional pediatric care

Qualifications

• Current Washington RN license in good standing
• BLS certification required; PALS strongly preferred
• Previous perioperative or OR nursing experience is a plus
• Pediatric nursing experience is highly valued
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Excellent communication and critical-thinking skills

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of surgical asepsis and sterile technique
• Familiarity with pediatric surgical instruments and equipment
• Skilled in patient assessment, monitoring, and emergency response
• Ability to prioritize and adapt in a dynamic surgical environment
• Team collaboration and clear communication skills
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
