Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate post-anesthesia care to patients recovering from surgery
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient status during the critical recovery phase
• Administer medications and manage post-operative pain effectively
• Collaborate closely with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to ensure smooth transitions
• Educate patients and their families about recovery and discharge instructions
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana
• BLS certification required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Previous PACU, critical care, or emergency nursing experience is a plus
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Ability to respond quickly and calmly in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of post-anesthesia nursing principles and best practices
• Skilled in patient monitoring and early detection of complications
• Comfortable using electronic health records and medical equipment
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
