Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure all instruments are sterilized and ready
• Assist dental hygienists during patient exams, cleanings, and procedures
• Capture and process dental x-rays while ensuring patient comfort
• Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care
• Manage patient records and assist with appointment scheduling
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming clinical environment

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Assistant certification or completion of an accredited program (required in MD)
• Current CPR/BLS certification required
• Experience in a dental practice is a plus, but new grads are welcome to apply
• Strong communication skills and a caring, patient-first attitude
• Ability to work efficiently and adapt in a fast-paced clinical setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental terminology and chairside assisting techniques
• Familiarity with dental software (e.g., Dentrix) is a bonus
• Understanding of OSHA guidelines and infection control protocols
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
• Excellent patient interaction skills with a focus on comfort and education
