Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the orthodontist during exams, procedures, and adjustments to keep every visit seamless.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and maintain a clean, organized workspace.
• Take and pour dental impressions, fabricate orthodontic appliances, and manage patient records.
• Expose and process dental radiographs safely and accurately.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene, braces care, and post-treatment instructions in a friendly way.
• Manage patient flow and update charts efficiently within the Denticon system.

Qualifications

• Must be orthodontic certified (required).
• Current Dental Assistant certification/licensure in Maryland or ability to meet state requirements.
• Previous dental assistant experience, preferably in orthodontics.
• BLS/CPR certification is a plus.
• Comfort using dental practice management software; Denticon experience preferred.
• Great communication skills and a patient-first mindset.

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid understanding of orthodontic procedures, instruments, and terminology.
• Skill in dental radiography and safety protocols.
• Knowledge of sterilization and infection control standards.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for connecting with patients of all ages.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced orthodontic setting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
