Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients as they recover from surgery
• Monitor vital signs, airway patency, and level of consciousness during the recovery phase
• Assess patients for signs of complications and respond swiftly to changes in condition
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and the care team to ensure seamless transitions
• Educate and support families with clear, compassionate communication about recovery
• Document all patient care accurately and maintain a safe, comforting environment

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Missouri or a compact state
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required; PALS preferred
• Previous PACU, critical care, or pediatric nursing experience is a plus
• Strong clinical assessment skills and the ability to make confident decisions
• Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of pediatric anesthesia recovery and pain management
• Skilled in using patient monitoring equipment and electronic health records
• Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Strong communication skills to interact with children, families, and the care team
• Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical setting
