Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert perianesthesia nursing care to pediatric patients recovering from anesthesia
• Monitor vital signs, airway patency, and level of consciousness to ensure safe emergence
• Assess and manage post-operative pain using age-appropriate techniques
• Educate families on recovery expectations and discharge instructions with compassion and clarity
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver personalized, family-centered care
• Act quickly and confidently in emergencies to stabilize and support young patients

Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered Ohio RN license
• Current BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
• Current PALS certification (AHA or equivalent)
• Previous PACU, critical care, or pediatric nursing experience preferred
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program
• Compassion for working with children and their families

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Comfortable with pediatric medication dosing and IV management
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR)
• A genuine passion for pediatric patient advocacy
