Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care to individuals with psychiatric needs
• Observe, document, and report patient behaviors and clinical changes accurately
• Support treatment plans by assisting with therapeutic activities and groups
• Maintain a safe, secure environment through vigilant observation and de-escalation techniques
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team to coordinate patient care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and routine clinical procedures as directed
• Participate in mandatory orientation and required trainings to stay current

Qualifications

• Valid California Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) — required
• Per diem availability and ability to confirm/cancel shifts daily
• Ability to work the scheduled shift: Wednesday–Sunday, 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM
• Willingness to complete facility orientation and required trainings
• Previous experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings preferred

Education

• Completion of an approved psychiatric technician program or equivalent training
• High school diploma or GED

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong observational and documentation skills for behavioral health settings
• Calm, patient-centered approach to de-escalation and crisis intervention
• Good verbal communication and teamwork with clinical staff
• Familiarity with therapeutic activities and basic clinical procedures
• Ability to follow facility policies and maintain safety in a secure environment
• Dependability and flexibility for per diem scheduling
