Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care on a med/surg unit, using strong clinical judgment
• Assess patients regularly, identify changes in condition, and escalate concerns promptly
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and carry out individualized care plans
• Administer medications, treatments, and document interventions accurately and timely
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, procedures, and discharge planning to support recovery
• Participate in safe handoffs and maintain clear, professional communication during rotating shifts
• Support unit goals for quality, safety, and patient satisfaction through active engagement

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license required prior to the start of the contract (Hawaii license or eligibility to obtain it)
• Current BLS required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred or required depending on unit
• Minimum relevant clinical experience in med/surg or comparable acute care settings (specific years to be discussed)
• Ability to work rotating day/evening shifts and consecutive weekends as needed
• Proof of required immunizations and background checks per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Solid med/surg nursing assessment and clinical intervention skills
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Strong prioritization, time management, and multitasking abilities during busy shifts
• Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork and patient education
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and unit workflows
