Location: Bowie, MD

Contract Type: Per-Diem

Shift Type: Per Diem (days vary), 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Day shift

Hours per Week: 40

Candidate Pay Rate: $18 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

Provide compassionate daily care to geriatric residents, promoting dignity and comfort
Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility
Monitor residents’ condition and promptly report changes to nursing staff
Help maintain a safe and clean environment for residents
Support mealtime assistance and ensure proper nutrition and hydration
Build trusting relationships with residents and their families through clear, respectful communication

Qualifications

Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification
Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
Demonstrated experience working with elderly or long-term care residents is a plus
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Able to pass background checks and meet facility health requirements
Reliable, punctual, and comfortable with hands-on patient care

Education

High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an approved GNA program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

Knowledge of basic geriatric care principles and resident safety practices
Skillful in assisting with ADLs and safe patient transfers
Ability to observe, document, and report changes in resident condition
Good interpersonal skills for working with residents, families, and clinical teams
Comfortable following care plans and direction from licensed nursing staff
