Roles & Responsibilities

Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography procedures following established protocols
Ensure optimal patient positioning and top-notch image quality while adhering to ALARA radiation safety
Review orders and team up with radiologists for seamless imaging coordination
Track prior images for accurate comparisons that aid in diagnosis
Educate patients on breast health and self-exams to empower their well-being
Act as a go-to resource for breast imaging quality control and equipment mastery
Advocate for patients by streamlining care and reducing wait times
Join committees and promote mammography services in the community

Qualifications

ARRT registration in Radiography and Mammography
Active California Radiologic Technologist License
Active California Mammographic Technologist License
Active California Fluoroscopic Radiologic Technologist License
AHA BLS Certification
California Venipuncture Certificate within 3 months of hire
Minimum 5 years of mammography technologist experience

Knowledge & Skills

Expertise in mammography procedures and patient positioning
Image quality assurance and ALARA radiation safety principles
Patient education on breast health
Equipment operation and quality control in breast imaging
