Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to maintain optimal oral health
• Take and process dental X-rays to aid in diagnosis
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventative care
• Document patient care and treatment plans accurately
• Assist the dentist during procedures and ensure patient comfort
• Adhere to safety and infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Valid Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience in a dental practice preferred
• Strong communication and patient care skills
• Ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean workspace

Knowledge & Skills

• In-depth knowledge of dental hygiene procedures and instruments
• Proficiency with dental software for charting and records
• Excellent patient education and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of infection control and sterilization standards
• Radiography skills for taking diagnostic X-rays
