Roles & Responsibilities

• Care for a wide variety of patients in a fast-paced Clinical Decision/Direct Admit Unit
• Complete admission assessments and medication reconciliation for patients admitted from the ED
• Initiate acute care orders and coordinate the plan of care to enhance throughput and reduce length of stay
• Monitor telemetry and step-down patients, escalating clinical issues as needed to ensure patient safety
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient-centered care
• Float to other units within your skill set as needed and support ED transport initiatives

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent MedSurg, Telemetry, and Step-Down (PCU) experience
• Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Positive attitude with a focus on teamwork in a quick-turnover environment
• Charge Nurse experience or willingness to step into that role is a plus
• Comfortable with fast-paced admissions and varied diagnoses

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient with Cerner documentation
• Experience with remote telemetry monitoring
• Strong clinical decision-making and patient assessment skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a high-acuity, fast-paced setting
• Knowledge of acute care order initiation and medication reconciliation
