Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate nursing care to patients on a fast-paced stroke/neuro unit
• Monitor neurological status and recognize early signs of stroke or deterioration
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered, ensuring patient safety
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to create individualized care plans
• Educate patients and families on condition management and recovery
• Document accurately in Meditech EHR system

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or compact state
• BLS certification (AHA or equivalent)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in med-surg/tele or neuro unit
• Ability to adapt quickly to new environments and patient assignments
• Travel nursing experience is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in Meditech electronic health records
• Solid understanding of stroke protocols and neurological assessments
• Strong critical thinking and clinical judgment skills
• Ability to assess and manage patients with complex medical needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Comfortable working with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5
