Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver compassionate, high-acuity emergency care to patients across all ESI levels, from triage through discharge
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, document accurately in Meditech, and collaborate with the care team to prioritize urgent needs
• Administer medications, start IVs, and provide wound care, splinting, and lab draws with confidence and precision
• Actively participate in trauma resuscitations and provide timely care for stroke, STEMI, sepsis, and trauma patients
• Support a culture of urgency and teamwork, attending shift huddles and upholding EMTALA training standards
• Adapt quickly to changing patient conditions and assist in transitioning the unit to a Level II trauma center

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Texas or a compact state (NLC)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department experience required
• Level II or Level III trauma experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC or ENPC certifications
• EMTALA training and a commitment to patient-centered, urgent care
• CEN, TCRN, or CPI certification is a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong skills in patient assessment, IV insertion, medication administration, and wound care
• Experience with cardiac monitors, Baxter IV pumps, Tonopen, and Meditech EMR
• Comfortable managing multiple patients and adapting to changing acuity in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication, compassion, and teamwork in high-pressure situations
