Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to a diverse medical-surgical patient population, including post-operative burn and flap patients
• Perform thorough wound assessments and dressing changes, utilizing wound vacs and other specialized equipment as needed
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, recognizing and responding to changes in status
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and document care in Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, LPNs, and PCTs to deliver coordinated care
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans and recovery processes

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado or compact state (NLC) required
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital Med/Surg experience required
• Current BLS certification (AHA) required
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience in burn care, wound care, or ostomy care preferred
• Team player with a positive, adaptable attitude

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong clinical skills in Med/Surg nursing and acute care
• Competency in wound care, including pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, and ostomy management
• Proficiency with Meditech electronic medical records system
• Ability to use equipment such as Hoyer lifts, air taps, and wound vacs
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Critical thinking and quick decision-making in a fast-paced environment
