Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform thorough dental cleanings and scaling to remove plaque and tartar
• Take and develop dental X-rays as needed
• Document patient medical histories and treatment plans
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques
• Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean, safe clinical environment

Qualifications

• Active Dental Hygienist license in Virginia
• Current CPR/BLS certification
• Experience with dental software and digital X-rays
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficient in dental hygiene procedures and instrument sterilization
• Knowledge of dental terminology and patient care standards
• Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
• Patient education and motivational interviewing skills
• Familiarity with OSHA and infection control protocols
